The Binimi Twist derives from big game angling and is a seriously strong knot, The secret lies in the twists, which stretch and allow the knot to take big loads, It has become a favoured knot with anglers who fish rough ground,
How to construct the knot:
Firstly double over the last 24 inches of your mainline.
Hold the end against the reels mainline and using your right hand make between 15 and 20 twists in the loop.
Slide the loop over your shoe and maintain an even pressure on each end.
Maintain the pressure on the mainline, move the tag end so it is at 90 degrees to the mainline and increase the pressure on both ends to compress the twists.
Release some pressure and,as the twists try to move back up the line, guide the tag end so it runs over the top of the existing twists down towards where the two lines split to form the loop around your foot.
You now should have one set of twists running up away from the loop with a further set running back down over them.
Close off the knot by taking the tag end and making a half hitch around one side of the loop then the other.Do not pull up too tightly because the loopcould slip.
Now you make a half hitch around both sides of the loop.
Snug up the hitches and Remove the loop from your shoe and allow the loop to twist up.
Now push the end of the shockleader through the end of the loop.
Make three turns around the loop with the leader.
Now make two turns back towards the end of the loop.
Push the tag end back through the loop.
Gently ease the knot together, pull tight and trim the tag end .
