The water knot can be used to tie hook snoods to the rig body, instead of using swivels or cut blood loops, It's worth practising this knot a few times to judge how much snood line you need and where to make the join. Here's how to do it...
Lay a length of hook snood alongside your trace body. Make sure the snood line is longer than you need.
Form a loop with the two lengths of line at the point where you want to attatch the snood.
The shorter ends will be passed through the loop
Make the first turn passing the line out the other side.
Make three more turns.
Moisten with saliva and pull the knot slowly tight from each end.
Cut off the shortest tag end.
This leaves the longest end ready to tie on the hook
